I want to do a quick autopsy on my own account today.
I have been posting plenty of content, yet it never seemed to work as I've imagined. When my growth stalled, my default instinct was to increase supply. I wrote more drafts, pushed up my publishing volume, and mimicked larger accounts.
Here is what I learned the hard way and please do not repeat my mistakes:
Writing more content is fake work if they are not showing or converting.
Imagine leading more traffic into broken funnel. Useless, right?
My problem was algorithmic penalties. Content was simply not being distributed and no volume could just fix that. I had to play a different game: optimize for algorithm's understanding first, instead of my own audience (those are usually connected anyway).
Only after figuring out the approach, topical authority and even specific structures algo understood, my content started getting reach, allowing me to double volume to scale what's already being working.
The lesson here is not to try game an algo. It's useless, they change every day. But making yourself understandable for algo is a hard requirement for any social media with algorithmic feed like Linkedin, Twitter and IG, as they learn who you are to better understand who to serve your content to.
